The Baby Bank is a programme run by Ilford Salvation Army to help families on low income. Ilford Salvation Army is a church who believe our faith means helping people in difficult times. Our help is available to people regardless of their own faith or background.
Families are welcomed from the local borough. We accept self-referrals and also referrals from social services, children’s centres, health services and other community groups.
At the moment we can only have appointment based meeting, please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org; or on phone: 020 8478 2961 or text/WhatsApp on 07865 422190
We can help with clothing sizes from tiny baby to 18-24 months; baby bedding, prams/buggies and double buggies, Moses baskets, cots beds or travel cots, feeding equipment, high chairs and toys. We do not have clothing for children bigger than 24 months.
All our stock is donated by the public so most items are second hand, but still in good condition. Parents take full responsibility for checking items suitability for use. As items are donated we cannot guarantee that any particular item will be in stock but we can add you to a waiting list if you need something we don’t have at the moment.
We are only able to supply nappies and formula milk in emergencies or depending on our stock.
As our stock is limited, the Baby Bank team have guidelines about how many items are needed at different ages. They may need to limit the number of clothing items taken. Please remember we are trying to help as many families as possible.
The Baby Bank team have been trained to assess who is in priority need and rarer items may be saved for families who need them more urgently.
The Baby Bank coordinator can also help with referrals to other services, food bank vouchers and many more if you need additional support.
