Going to see the Doctor

You might worry if your mum or dad says that you have to go to see the Doctor – remember that you don’t just go to see the doctor when you are not well. There are times that you go to have a ‘check up’ and make sure that you are fit and healthy and that your body is growing and working properly.
If you are not very well – the Doctor will ‘examine you’ that means he will look carefully at the part of your body that hurts, or ask questions about how you are feeling. He might listen to your chest with a stethoscope, feel your tummy or look into your ears or eyes – there are other things that he might do to find out what is wrong with you so that he can think of the best way to make you better.
