What is Shopmibility?
Shopmobility is a scheme that lends manual wheelchairs, powered wheelchairs and powered scooters to members of the public with limited mobility to shop and to visit leisure and commercial facilities within the town, city or shopping centre. With Shopmobility you can continue to access your local centre either independently, or with family and friends.
Am I eligible?
Shopmobility is for anyone, young or old, whether their disability is temporary or permanent.
It is available for those with injuries, long or short-term disabilities – anyone who needs help with mobility. Shopmobility is about the freedom to get around. You do not need to be registered disabled to use it however there is a small fee for this service in the Ilford area.
How do I access?
You will need to contact Shopmobility in advance to discuss your requirements, find out what information they will need from you (normally ID is required on your first visit) and discuss any short training you might need for any powered wheelchair or scooters.
