Education Offer

Overview

At my setting it is important that everyone is treated fairly. All children are given the best opportunity to achieve and reach their full potential. I offer all children a full range of activities which support their development in a stimulating and safe environment.

I ensure that support is given to children with special educational needs so that they can be included in all the activities.

My setting is located in the Wanstead area close to the tube station. I have a separate playroom and good size garden. I can accommodate up to 6 children at any one time. The children who attend my setting come from arrange of different background. I also have a quiet room where children can sleep and relax. My setting is bright, clean and welcoming and a home from home environment.

The setting is located in a 2 story house with the toilet on the first floor. There is a small step to the porch and rear garden.

Identifying children's needs

I work very close with parents and by sharing information I am able to provide good quality care. Starting points are obtained and individual settling in program arranged to ease the transition progress.

Ongoing observations are curried out which identifies where the child is developmentally so I can plan how to support them to achieve their next step.

These observations are shared with parents and any difficulties with their learning is discussed as its important that early identification of any difficulties is met.

With written consent from parents and cares outside agencies can be involved when children do not progress at the expected rate.

Dedicated contacts

I am the first point of contact for parents and carers with any questions about their child’s development. Progress can also be discussed with the local authority SEN advisor/ coordinator but only with prior permission from parents.

Measuring children's progress

Through ongoing observations children’s progress and development is tracked and this information is regularly shared with parents. Daily diaries and photos are also used to keep parents up to date.

Accessibility of the school

Most resources are stored at children’s level and all are clearly labelled. The toilet is on the first floor and includes a step for easy access to washing facilities.

The garden area is secure and accessible from the kitchen area.

Inclusion

Risks assessments are completed regularly to ensure health and safety is maintained.

I provide a wide range of equipment to support children learning which also includes sensory toys.

All activities in my setting are planned to meet individual level of development and are adapted to ensure that every child is included.

Transition arrangements

I work closely with parents and other settings that children attend to ensure that any transition process runs smoothly.
