Scope - Youth Community Collective in East London

Scope Youth Community Collective

We are a community group that aims to be as co-produced as possible, so decisions are made by the group and staff members are there to support and facilitate those decisions. Crucial to this is how accessible meetings are, so the group decides on venues, times & dates.

The Youth Community Collective is a community group for 18-25 year olds (disabled and non disabled) who want to meet new people, discuss barriers they face in their local area, develop projects to address these, and improve their communities for young disabled people. We meet once a month in the evening, sometimes in person and sometimes online, to work on social change projects.

We are working on being as accessible as possible, with our group members deciding on venues and supporting audits on accessibility before booking a venue. We are a safe space to discuss what is working and what isn’t in terms of accessibility and have been moving around to be better inclusive.
