My name is Laily and I am an Ofsted registered childminder. I have been childminding for 10 years and I have experience in looking after children from the ages of 5 months +. I have looked after a number of children in my setting and I ensure that I provide high quality child care within a positive, safe and happy environment. I take children in my care to a local playgroup, library and park. I also go to a weekly childminding network and I have completed and passed my NVQ3 in childcare. I offer 15 hours free Early Education Entitlement (FEEE) for ages 2-5 year olds (Subject to eligibility). School drop/pick up is only available for: Redbridge primary school, Parkhill primary school and Glade primary school.

Overview

At my setting it is important that every child is given the same opportunities. This means that they will be able to learn, develop and reach their full potential. All the children in my setting are able to access a range of activities which support their learning and I ensure that this includes children with special educational needs or disabilities. 

I adhere to the requirements of the Equality Act 2010 and the SEND Code of Practice 2014.

My setting is located in the Woodford Avenue area of Redbridge. I have a separate dedicated playroom which is a large size and includes toilet facilities. I also have a large garden area.

I can accommodate up to 6 children.

Identifying children's needs

It is important that any needs of the child are identified as early as possible. Any concerns regarding a child’s development will always be discussed with the parents.

Regular observations and assessments are carried out to determine where the child is developmentally. All assessment is play based and follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum.

I will be the first point of contact for parents and cares to discuss their child’s progress.

Measuring children's progress

Termly progress reports are provided and discussed with parents.

Two year progress checks are also carried out in the prime areas.

Children are regularly observed and these are placed into the Learning Journeys which are shared regularly with parents. Observations include next steps and then planning is implemented to support the child to achieve.

I have completed a Level 3 childcare qualification.

Accessibility of the school

All resources are clearly labelled and accessible to all children.

The toilet is located in the dedicated playroom which is all on one level. There is a short walk of a few metres from the main house to the playroom. The children eat, sleep and also play in the main living area of the house.

The garden is fully accessible from both the house and the playroom. There is a small step from the main house and again a small step into the playroom. 

Inclusion

All activities are planned so that they are appropriate to the level of the child’s development and can be adapted if required.

Regular outings are planned for all children and are always risk assessed.
