I provide communal home schooling for small groups of children whose needs cannot be met in a mainstream school environment. I am a fully qualified teacher and accredited SENCo with a master's degree in educational psychology and 15 years’ experience of helping children reach their full potential. My sessions are flexible and I work around the needs of each child and family.
During the sessions, the children follow a curriculum which is personalised to their specific needs with clear goals, which are regularly reviewed. The sessions are fun and captivating with a mixture of kinaesthetic activities, games, independent work, discussion and challenges. Each week features a WOW activity which will be related to one of the topics that we're studying; this will include things like cooking, nature hunts, science experiments etc.
I am flexible in regards to the content of the sessions but I tend to focus on the most academic areas of a child's schooling because my pupils are often already enrolled in extra-curricular clubs. However, I also like to involve creative elements to stimulate learning.
As part of my service, I provide a weekly report with pictures of our WOW activity, half termly consultations and, of course, ad hoc conversations about progress whenever you need them. I can also provide homework and recommendations for education activities to consolidate what we've learnt.
