- Overview
Every child is treated equally, one to one support will be offered, the child's individual needs will be met, we will interact with the parents and outside agencies to further develop the chid`s needs.
Our setting is a large church hall, there are double doors for ramp access and wheel chair access. The church hall is set up on a daily basis for all children to use different resources and activities according to the EYFS cirriculum, and individual needs. We have sensory resources, we have a cosy corner where children are able to rest or sleep.
We have a large outside area which is open for the children to use everyday, which has been developed according to the childrens needs and interest e.g. Role play wooden house, wooden bridges and a boat, a mud kitchen. We have ramps available for children in wheelchairs. We have a disabled toilet.
How will the school know if my child needs additional help and how will the school share information with me?
The Manager and SENCo have attended SEND Modular Training within the last 12 months and support the rest of the staff through in-house training.
- Identifying children's needs
We have a qualified Level 4 Named SENCO and a named deputy SENCO. We will carry out observations and assessments, once they start the setting, we will continue to monitor the child and identify the child`s individual needs. We will then have an intial meeting with the parent and discuss the outcomes, and carry out an IOP with outcomes and small steps.
