Duke Of Edinburgh Award | Redbridge

The DofE scheme it’s for young people from 14 to 24 years old with or without disabilities. Colleges, universities and employers regard a DofE Award highly. It takes young people out of their comfort zone and into a place where they’ll push themselves and have amazing new experiences. They’ll build confidence, resilience, skills and friendship groups.

Young people will develop skills for work companies that recognise and highly support DofE.

There is a pilot allowing young people to start the Bronze Award level at 13½ years or year 9.

The enrolment session is Monday evening from 6.00pm to 7.00pm. The young person have to come with a parent to enrol.

DofE Redbridge provides Bronze walking expedition however young people can choose between horse riding, canoeing, kayaking, cycling, sailing and wheelchair.

  • Bronze Award: 14yrs – Volunteering, Physical, skills and expedition sections (2 days and 1 night)
  • Silver Award: 15 yrs  – Volunteering, physical, Skills and expedition sections (3 days and 2 nights)
  • Gold Award 16 yrs  – Volunteering, Physical, Skills, Residential and expedition sections (4 days and 3 nights)
