The Redbridge Respite Care Association

Our charity provides services for an outreach service and we also have a day centre which is fully funded for Redbridge residents, and for people living outside Redbridge we provide services at competitive rates.

We provide person centred support tailored to people’s needs promoting independence and well-being. Our charity was set up in order to provide support to people with Mental health and Dementia issues and to their carers. We employ fully trained support workers who are all fully trained and specialise in Dementia/Mental Health and safeguarding adults. We provide care and information tailored to people’s need. We also employ support workers who speak multiple languages supporting all ethnic backgrounds enabling a better understanding when speaking to the service user and Carer.

Day centre

RRCA runs a day centre for people with Dementia on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 10am-3pm. People who attend are offered a range of activities, breakfast on arrival, 2 course home cooked lunch as well as refreshments throughout the day. We have 8 people per day and have four staff on duty at each session.

Outreach/Respite at home

The same support worker will attend you home for 2.5 hours weekly and provide daily mental and physical stimulation, go out for walks, shopping etc reducing isolation, improving their well-being and providing respite for the carer.

Monthly peer support groups

We have these groups monthly on a Tuesday held at studio 2 in Ilford library 11.30am-1.30pm. This group is open to everyone who has been a carer for a family member, friend or neighbour. So come and join us for a few hours to chat, listen, be with other carers who are going through similar experiences in their caring role. We also have professional speakers who attend and provide information, support and guidance. We provide refreshments, great conversation and opportunities to socialise and find out what is going on in our local community.
