Amina Bilal

My dedication to provide a safe, stimulating and fun environment where children can grow, has allowed me to successfully childmind for over 10 years. I am an Ofsted registered childminder with a dedicated at home childminding premises.
I have a keen interest in the growth and development of children through learning, which I track for parents and cater for specifically in my home. I have a large garden, where children spend a lot of time as well as a dedicated playroom for indoor activities. I also provide halal or vegetarian food, so that a child’s dietary requirements can be accommodated. In addition, there are also planned days out for example to the country parks that surround my setting which broadens a child’s experience.
I appreciate how each child has their own individual needs and I account for this. Please feel free to contact me to discuss your requirements in further detail.

- Overview
Every child is unique and I believe that they should be given full opportunity to achieve their full potential and be independent learners. In my setting children learn through play in a safe and stimulating environment. They choose from a variety of activities. Children with special needs are given full support, are included in all activities so they learn along with other kids. I work with the parents and carers by discussing the activities, progress, goals at all the times.
I adhere to the requirements of the Equality Act 2010 and the SEND Code of Practice 2014.
My setting is conveniently located in Chigwell with a big outside parking. I have a separate playroom and a very big garden. Children who attend my settings are from different backgrounds. I have a quiet room for children to rest and relax. I have access to the sensory room at my local children centre.
- Identifying children's needs
It is very important that there should be early detection of any special needs. If there is a concern, it is discussed with the parents/carers so that support is provided for child’s learning and development.
Learning is play based and follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum milestones.
Outside agencies may be involved when a child does not progress at the expected rate despite additional support. Parents and carer are asked for their consent. Progress may also be discussed with the LA Childminding Development Officer and the SEN Advisor/Coordinator.
- Dedicated contacts
- I will be the first point of contact for parents and carers. Progress may also be discussed with the Local Authority SEN Advisor/Co-ordinator.
- Involving children and their families
- Regular contact between parents/carers and the setting

- Measuring children's progress
Planning for children with SEN is done using Individual Outcomes Plan (IOP). The IOP shows small steps and is reviewed every term with the parent and carer.
A progress report is given to the parent at the end of the term with details of the child’s progress across EYFS.
Children are observed regularly to identify progress and next steps.
At the age of two a Two Year Old Progress Check is compiled. This covers the child’s progress in Prime Areas of the EYFS.
- Support and training for school staff
I have experience of supporting children with SEN and additional health requirements. I work alongside with the Local Authority, local school, Children Centres and other childminders.
- Accessibility of the school
Children have easy and full access to all resources that are clearly labelled and kept in low level boxes. Garden is accessible from the main play room.
There is a ground floor toilet provided with a stool for easy washing facility.
- Inclusion
Inclusion policy is in place and all children are included in all age appropriate activities followed by the risk assessment. Children’s health and safety is of utmost importance and is maintained at all times.
All activities are differentiated according to children’s level of development.
- Transition arrangements
School visits are organised at the start of the summer term. All relevant transition records will be passed on to the next setting/school with the parent’s permission.
