Bookstart Packs and Bear Clubs

Bookstart is a nationwide programme that distributes books to young children free of charge with the aim of promoting a lifelong love of books. There are three packs available for different ages (6 months, 18 months and 3 years).

Bookstart Bear Clubs are an ongoing programme for the under fives run in libraries nationwide. The aim is to get young children visiting their library regularly. Upon joining the child is given a Joiner's Card, and they will receive a stamp and a sticker every time they visit the library. Once six visits have been completed the child will receive a certificate. There are 10 different certificates to collect.
