Education Offer

Overview

We believe all children should have the same opportunities in their life and feel that our nursery is as inclusive as it can be.

Our nursery is located inside Valentines Park and is all on one level with 1 spacious room for under 2’s and 1 large room split into two. One for our 2-3 year olds and the other for our 3-5 year olds. We have disabled access throughout the nursery. We also have extensive outdoor provision.

Identifying children's needs

Staff have key children that they observe and work with closely, they follow the development matters assessment tool to monitor where the child is at. We have twice yearly parents evenings and operate an open door policy to the management team and staff in the 2 year old room complete the 2 year old check that is shared with parents.

Involving children and their families
  • Planning and review meetings
  • Parenting advice
  • Regular contact between parents/carers and the setting
  • Regular meetings with parents offered.

  • Advice sought via the internet and passed to parents, plus referrals to relevant agencies

Range of support available
  • EYFS Curriculum  planning differentiation
  • Support for behaviour
  • Support for health needs
  • Partnership working with other professionals
  • Support fr communication needs

We strive to offer as much support as we can and will actively seek out assistance for the parents and the setting.

Measuring children's progress

We use Individual Outcome Plans (IOPs), to give children small developmental steps that are managable. This is reviewed on a regular basis with parents and or other agencies.

Support and training for school staff

All our staff have access to online training and practical training offered by the local authority

All staff are trained to help and support children with SEND needs

Accessibility of the school

Fully accessible for wheelchair users and space addequate enough for personal care.

Inclusion

Planning incorporates all children's individual needs and interests, all areas of the nursery are risk assessed twice a day for safety and security.

Transition arrangements

We will contact the school and new teacher and invite them to come and visit the child in the nursery and also for the parents and key person to visit the child's new school together. The key person will write a transition report for the new school. We attend the inclusion forums with schools held by Redbridge.

Parents are offered varied support.

Staff help to point them in the right direction
