Children Centres (also known as Sure Start Children’s Centres) is the place or group of places through which each of the early childhood services is made available and at which activities for young children are provided.

Early childhood services include: early years provision; the social services functions of the local authority in relation to young children, parents and prospective parents; health services relating to young children, parents or prospective parents; provision of assistance to parents and prospective parents for training and employment; and information and assistance for parents and prospective parents.  The work is also informed by CYPP, EI Plan, Child Poverty Strategy and Equality Action Plan.

Children’s Centres are open to all families living in Redbridge with children under 5 years and up to the age of 8 for children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND).
