Glasspool

The Glasspool Charity Trust was set up in 1939 with an endowment of properties and investments from Mr. Richard Louveteau Glasspool, a wealthy Hertfordshire businessman and philanthropist who died in 1949 at the age of 65.  He decided that setting up his own charity would be the most cost-effective use of his money, both by saving income tax as well as administration and fundraising costs.

Continuing the ethos of its founder, the R L Glasspool Charity Trust gives modest one-off Grants usually of White Goods or Beds to individuals in severe need throughout the United Kingdom.

This Trust is one of the few national charities making grants to individuals which have no restrictions on the type of beneficiary.

Please note that Glasspool do not accept applications directly from individual members of the public.  Only organisations that meet their criteria are eligible to apply.
