Children's Centres in Redbridge

Children’s Centres have reopened!

An important message from Dr Hasneen Choudhury, Strategic Lead for Redbridge Children’s Centres

Dear Parents and Carers,

After 15 months of restricted access, we have started the process of reopening and we can’t wait to see you. However, we need your patience for a little while longer.

Although we have been running online and some in-person services since the start of the pandemic, since Tuesday 1st June 2021, we have begun running a limited programme of sessions with small groups of families. These sessions, quite naturally, are focused on children who have identified needs that need addressing as a priority. Along with the rest of the country, we look forward to the lifting of most restrictions on 19th July 2021, assuming the government determine this is safe.

In the meantime, we would urge you to apply for your vaccine if you are eligible, details on how to book can be found here.

We haven’t been idle whilst we have been closed; we are pleased to announce a new online reservation request system is being introduced. When you use this new system, you will find all the online and in-person sessions available. Now you don’t have to hang on the phone waiting to book, but can request a place from your smartphone, tablet or computer. The details on how to do this are below this message.

You can keep in touch with the rollout of services by following our messages on social media:

Some Children’s Centres staff are still working remotely in the run-up to full reopening. So, if you wish to speak with a member of our staff, please email us at the following email address and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible:

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Dr Hasneen Choudhury

Strategic Lead for Redbridge Children’s Centres

New Online Reservation Request System

It is important to note that the new system is a ‘request’ and not a booking system. To ensure fair and appropriate access, Children’s Centre staff will process requests and confirm bookings, usually within a few hours.

You can access the ‘request a reservation’ system here:

Reservation requests

Or via the QR code provided on the right hand side of this page.

There is an easy to follow 3-step process:

  1. 1.    Register for a Redbridge Portal User Account.

If you have one, you will be able to go straight to log-in. If you don’t, you will be guided through this easy step, all you will need is a valid email address and some personal information.

  1. 2.    Register with Children’s Centres

If you have not previously registered with Children’s Centres you must do so before requesting a session place. If you don’t, we won’t be able to match you in the system.

You can register online here. You will first have to log in to your Redbridge Portal Account (Step 1) and then follow the steps to register with Children’s Centres.

  1. 3.    View sessions and request a place.

Sessions are listed by date. Please check the following before requesting a place:

  • The session is running at a Children’s Centre in your permitted locality (see below).
  • The session is suitable for your child’s age (all groups will state the age range)

Sessions available are displayed in date order and by centre. Select Request a place and select the children you wish to attend. Remember to select the box to request a place for yourself.

Once you have made your request, our team will go through requests and allocate spaces. At the moment groups are very small so there will be disappointment for some families. However, we are building services up in-line with government recommendations. Please be patient; things will improve.

Your request will either be approved or denied. If denied it might be because:

  • All spaces have been allocated
  • The group was not suitable for your child’s age
  • The group requested was not in your home locality
  • You have attended or requested the session/other sessions and the space was allocated to someone else on the grounds of fair access.
  • You are not currently registered with Children’s Centres in Redbridge.

You can check your Parent Account to see whether you have been successful, we will also endeavour to send out email notifications.
