At some point in life we may experience bereavement, or grief which is a complex process that is considered normal and may be accompanied by a variety of emotional reactions, behavioral responses, and thoughts after a significant loss. Bereavement is usually referred to the loss of a loved one, but this can also be extended to the loss of a physical ability, and or other events.
It is important to have support from family and friends during these difficult times; however when bereavement is prolonged or becomes seriously overwhelming, professional help may need to be sought. There are a variety of local and national organisations that support individuals and families dealing with grief, including the financial support they maybe entitled to.
