The Local SEND Offer in Redbridge

As part of the recently passed Children and Families Act 2014, Redbridge Council is working with local and national partners to develop its Local SEND Offer for families with a child with a special educational need and/or disability (SEND).  Redbridge's Local SEND Offer is being developed under FiND's Informed Families section of this website.  More info here...

Children and Families Act 2014 gains royal assent

This new Bill will mean changes to the law to give greater protection to vulnerable children, better support for children whose parents are separating, a new system to help children with special educational needs and disabilities, and help for parents to balance work and family life. Education for 3 and 4 year olds

All three and four year olds are entitled to 15 hours of free early education a week. This is from the term after their third birthday and is up until they either go into reception class or reach compulsory school age (the term following their fifth birthday). 

In order to receive the funding for the Summer Term 2014, your child will need to be registered with a school nursery, day nursery, pre-school/playgroup or childminder by 15th May 2014.  More info...

Fostering and adoption in Redbridge

The Fostering and Adoption team works to ensure that children who cannot live with their own families are placed with adopters or foster carers where this is identifed as being in their best interest. More info here...

If you or somebody you know is experiencing any form of violence or abuse within the home, do not suffer in silence.  There are various support groups and organisations that are there to provide help and support. More info here...
